Timed for airplay for just when her latest tour was about to kick off, the 3rd single from Amy Macdonald’s Life In A Beautiful Light album comes in the form of 4th Of July.
It might come as a surprise, but we don’t see the single potential in this track. It’s alright on the album and a live version of it isn’t too bad at all either, but as a single we just cannot buy into it. It doesn’t particularly sell itself and it’s probably down to the fact that it doesn’t lend itself to getting you sing along with it like many of her tracks do. It just sort of trundles along at it’s own little pace.
Sadly not a fireworks display worthy the 4th of July. It’s more of a damp squib.
