There’s a bit of a Scottish bias to this week’s NMF. Back at the start of 2011, we reviewed Manran debut single Latha Math (see the review here). since then, they’ve released an album but this single that features Michelle McManus (remember her?) and produced by the the legendary Phil Cunningham has been released for the STV Appeal 2012, aiming to raise as much money as possible to help the 200,000 kids that live in poverty in Scotland. At least 40p from the sale of the single will be going to the appeal. While we’ve only linked to Amazon and iTunes, the track is available from a variety of outlets. The full list is here. There is a possibility that you may never have heard of this Scottish group, more than likely as this is their first release. But everyone had to start somewhere, so let's have a look.

Now bearing in mind that the group is Scottish, it might give the origins of the title away. Yes, the title is Gaelic (it means Good Day) as in fact the whole song is. But don't let this deter you from listening. It's a catchy little song that will soon have you tapping and clapping along even if you don't know what the song is truly about*. But that is the joy of music, that it is universal.

It is certainly different from what is out there at the moment although the meaning could be lost on many. If you're looking for something different from what's currently in the charts, or looking for something a little unusual, then take a listen at this
