Carly Rae Jepsen // I Really Like You

It’s been 3 years since we last heard from the Canadian export, but now she’s back with her latest single I Really Like You.

The track itself feels as if it belongs to the 80s with it sound but at the same time there, there is a feeling of familiarity as hints of her debut single Call Me Maybe. Maybe that’s a good thing here given the time that passed since we’ve last heard from her. The only draw back we can see is listeners being annoyed by the constant repetition of really in the chorus (there’s a lot in there).

Carly Rae Jepsen // This Kiss

Not long off the back of the collaboration with Owl City, Carly Rae Jepsen is back with her second single in the form of This Kiss.

Much like Call Me Maybe, the track feels very generic and a bit like it’s taken the best bits of songs throughout the decades but it hasn’t quite worked. It all honesty, it could quite easily be Call Me Maybe mark 2. Sadly it another song that if heard too many time you are going to be sick of hearing. Nothing here for the discerning listener.

Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen // Good Time

We can’t remember the last time that we heard from Owl City other than that memorable track Fireflies. We’ll he’s teamed up with Carly Rae Jepsen for this new track, Good Time.

It’s a got a familiar feel to Fireflies but the good news is that their vocals seem to work well to produce what is an infectiously catchy summery tune. In fact, it’s probably that catchy that you’re going to be annoyed by it because it’s going to be stuck in your head for a while. But still, we need those types of summery tunes considering the weather at the moment.

Great little tune that probably going to be around for a bit and then some

Carly Rae Jepsen // Call Me Maybe

There seems to be no lack of talent coming out from Canada these days as the latest export in the form of singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen.

Her debut comes in the form of the rather catchy Call Me Maybe. It’s maybe not the most brilliantly original song but it’s got a melody and lyrics that you can’t help hum or sing along to. We can imagine dancefloors jumping at remixes of this number. Hopefully the UK will take it to it heart and she won’t just be a one hit wonder here.
