it was back in December last year that anything was really heard for the 4 piece after they won The X Factor and went to number 1 with their cover of Damien Rice’s Cannonball (see our review here). However, finally they are ready to reveal their next single, Wings.
First point is that the girls co-wrote the track, so we’re already giving a tick to that. After all, it probably wasn’t expected by most. The song itself gives us the feeling of a mix of Christina Aguilera and Beyonce with it’s beats and melody. The harmonies are stronger than previously experienced. Lyrically, it’s another one of these songs that promote the ‘don’t listen to others and do your own thing’ which we seem to have had a few in the past year.
Still, it’s not a bad track. They’ve came out showing that whilst they’ve been quiet (at least on the sort of music front….twitter’s another story!) that they haven’t just been lazing back let others work for them. With Amazon quoting their album as early September, let’s see what else the girls can produce
